I tried on a variety of bibs and this pair was my first purchase. Having owned lots of bike shorts, I most liked the bibs for not having a waistband. It's surprising how much more comfortable that is, and the shoulder straps were hardly noticeable. The chamois is smaller than average and it is also softer and more compressible than most. As a result, it offers a little less padding, but it's much less bulky and obtrusive than most. If you like a big thick chamois then these are not the bibs for you (the Pearl Izumi Attack bibs would be better), but if you prefer less bulk and lighter padding then you may really like these Elite bibs. These bibs fit me pretty well. I am relatively short for my size, so most bike clothing is far too long for me, but these are better. I am 5'6" (36" waist, 23" thigh) and I got a size Large. The legs come to just above my knee and are snug but not too tight. In comparison to the others I tried, these were much nicer around the midsection. I have some belly, and the mesh material in the torso of these bibs was more compliant to stretch around without compressing. Most other bibs were too tight to be comfy.Overall I am very pleased with these bibs. They seem well made.UPDATE: These bibs have held up well over a couple riding seasons... but I've really started wishing they had a fly. It's really a drag to have to take your jersey off and pull the straps down to take a leak. My next pair will have a fly no doubt. Strange how hard that is to find, however.
